Keeping it together while falling apart.
What an excellent experience. The feeling of community and support was healing to a soul that needed reassurance. The Wisconsin Writers Association Conference was in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, last weekend.
I met some fantastic writers and even more amazing people. The Vibe was positive and welcoming. Thanks to Sarah, Mary, John, Jim, Steven, K, Rob, JT, Michaels, all the Kristins and Kristies, Shawan, Amanda, and frankly, all the interactions. I had the great pleasure of interacting with. Passion – purpose and kindness. Willingness to share and earnest discussions.
For me, it is always a weekend to look forward to. I missed last year due to the countless medical issues and missed the interactions with kindred spirits.
For my subscribers, I apologize for the irregular posting. I am battling the pain and limitation and doing my best to keep moving forward. I am truly fortunate to write at least a little bit each day. But sometimes it is challenging. So, I may have overpromised when I said there would be weekly postings.
I am trying to write at least a little bit each day and will be striving to make a more regular contribution to both my Substack and my Author page. I hope you will enjoy my perspective on life and my artistic contributions.
I have written at least a dozen books over the last four decades. With the assistance of my daughter, Samantha, I am slowly creating manuscripts that are the best we can produce.
At some point, I will start to share those with the public. Some of the novels have undergone professional editing in the past and are now ready for publication. My daughter is working to make that possible in the future.
No dates are set just yet. I continue to write and blog when I can I hope you enjoy my meager productivity. I assure you, however, that with the assistance of my daughter Samantha, the dozen or so novels I have produced over the last four decades will be published.
The conference in Steven’s Point was enjoyable and motivating. It is always about making personal connections, and the people there were talented and open to sharing their knowledge, and I am so grateful.
With the editorial assistance of my daughter, I am working to polish my Quinton Thatcher PI Skullduggery Mystery while writing the second book in the series, The Gold Ring and the Gilded Lie.
Remember, I have a Substack where I write a couple of distinct posts. One behind-the-scenes look at my process. I am currently rewriting and expanding a short story, “Love Birds. A fantasy story revolving around a magical parrot who can predict true love for a matchmaker. If you are a lover of fantasy, a fan of love, or interested in what happens to a matchmaker who falls in love, you will love – love birds. Check out https://substack.com/@tljohnson1
