All That Is – Reverberates Within Me

A Poem of Sorts – written long ago, if I could remember when, I’d say. When I read it, I think of my wife, who resonates in your remembrance.

All That Is – Reverberates Within Me

All That Is – Reverberates Within Me

It is sound, yet music to my ears.
My breathing is a resonant drum as her breath strums my heartstrings.
Her melodic words feed my soul, and her voice sounds inside me—
Resounding, reverberating, yet before gathering meaning, falling into silence.

The sound turns silent, as almost nonexistent vibrations play upon the timpani,
Sparking the nothingness of a neuron into nothing, amounting to something,
And eventually into everything.
In a great silence, my sigh impedes the drift into that space.

A change, so it is written—a new voice takes up the passage,
With smooth, silky, and soothing tones.
I follow the stave, notes wandering in magical harmony,
Hoping to land and spark the resonance of my love’s waiting ear.
